WE BELIEVE THAT THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT HAS A PROFOUND IMPACT ON OUR LIVES

Hefferan Partnership Lighting Design draws on the diverse backgrounds of the principals and designers to maintain the highest level of professional services for our clients. Collaboration within the firm and with the project team consistently leads to a successful outcome for world-renowned clients and projects.

Principal Steven Hefferan has been schooled in the art of stage lighting (BFA) and science of architectural engineering (MS). Early in his career, Steve worked as the resident lighting designer for the Metropolitan Museum of Art (1987-1990). This unique experience with museum and exhibition lighting design combined with 25 years of hands-on experience has led to an unwavering desire to provide clients with thoughtful, elegantly integrated lighting solutions that meet the most demanding visual and preservation criteria.

Principal Krystal Mackey has practiced architectural lighting design for over 15 years. Her background in architecture enables her to produce creative lighting solutions that are not only integrated with the building design, but also enhance the architectural features. Krystal currently handles a select group of projects and clients while overseeing administrative responsibilities for the firm.

Project Designer James Bates has returned to Hefferan Partnership Lighting Design after experiencing other aspects of the built environment including construction, electrical engineering, and energy consultation. Jimmy has a BS in architectural engineering with an emphasis in lighting design, is a LEED Accredited Professional, and has a strong background in the digital tools required to predict, simulate, and convey the implications of proposed strategies.

We also draw from a talented pool of interns and allied professionals to meet our project needs.
